Ideas for placing whiteboards and chalkboards in a conference room Part 1
23 April 2010

Every meeting is different, especially when it comes to business, so why not put some thought into the ways you could lay out your conference room? More often than not the chairs and tables and other furniture will be placed in a way that focuses attention on the presentation area (the whiteboard or projection screen for example). These are a sample of some ways to use conference space:

Theatre style: This is generally used when your space is limited and you are attempting to fill the room to capacity. It’s a good option if the presentation is just informative and the audience are not required to take notes from the material spoken by the presenter or written on the whiteboard.

Classroom style: Ideal for learning environments and perfect if you have more space to play with and the people in attendance will need to use computers or take notes on the information on the chalkboards or whiteboards.

See Ideas for placing whiteboards and chalkboards in a conference room Part 2 for further details about being creative with your conference space and whiteboards.
