Our pinboards can look a little dull at times, even when covered in a fabric that matches the rest of our office or classroom décor. If you want to dress up your pinboard that little bit more and make it a fun place to pin photographs, notes and memos, why not try covering yours with some funky ribbon?
Step 2: Remove your pinboard from its frame (if it has one) and lay it face up on a flat work surface.
Step 3: Decide how you are going to adhere the ribbons to your pinboard. You could stick them permanently down using an adhesive, you could staple the ends of the ribbon to the back of the board, or you could use some pushpins to secure the ribbons front and back.
Step 4: Decide on a pattern that you would like to create with your ribbons. You might like to lay them out of the pinboard before securing them to make sure that you like the effect. Criss-cross patterns are very popular, but you could also opt for squares, horizontal or vertical lines, or even a random pattern. Secure the ribbons using the method chosen above.
Many people opt to use pushpins, as this makes the ribbons easily moveable when you decide that you would like a different look for your pinboard; staples and adhesive, however, are more permanent options. Your pinboard should now be ready to be hung in your office or classroom and used.
