If you have a pinboard in your classroom, office or even home, you may have noticed that, whilst it is a great place to store notes, photographs and other important information, it really is a dull fixture for the space. Why not decorate your pinboard by adding some colour or other elements that will bring the board to life (and make people more likely to take a look at it)?
Cover the front of your pinboard with contact paper in a colour or pattern that you like; or, cover your pinboard with a piece of fabric in a colour or texture that you find appealing (attach to the back of the board using a hot glue gun).
Decorate the sides of the pinboard by attaching photographs. Glue a frame or two along the edges, as this will allow you to change the photographs as you have new ones taken.
Cut strips of stain or ribbon that you can criss-cross across the front of the pinboard. Some people like to do this in a diamond pattern, whereas others like ribbons to form a more random pattern.
Get a hold of some old or cheap stud earrings to use in the place of pins for a final decorate touch for your pinboard. Got a pair of earrings that you love but you managed to lose one (doesn’t this happen to all of us?)? Then use it on your pinboard.
A decorated pinboard is not only great for storing your notes, photographs and other important documents – it can be an attractive addition to any home, office or classroom. Through the clever use of colour and pattern, you can achieve the desired look for your pinboard, whether that is for a boy, a girl, an adult or a child.
