Further information

We manufacture 2 types of writing surface, both are a steel based, hence they are both are magnetic.

One surface is called Acrylic.

This surface is a pre painted product, and is coated in a similar way to colourbond steel. As it is essentially a painted surface, hence, slightly porous, whiteboard markers tend to ‘bleed” below the surface. This is not a problem, but it means the board will require much more cleaning. If written information is left on the surface for extended periods, it will leave a ghost residue. Usually what happens with this surface if used in a large organization is that no one takes the responsibility of maintaining the board, and eventually the surface begins to stain heavily, and will not clean. Usually the next thing to happen is that the board is cleaned with jiff or an abrasive cleaner. When this occurs, the surface is permanently damaged. This surface is good for a very small office where there are one or two people responsible for the care of the board and a low usage.

The other surface is Vitreous Enamel (Porcelain/Ceramic). This surface is glass baked onto steel. Being a glass surface, it will not scratch, and glass being non porous, markers will not “bleed” below the surface, which means that it is easier to clean and it is far more durable.

As both types of writing surfaces are sourced in large coils, the most common whiteboard height is 1200mm high, as this is normally restricted to the width of the steel, off the coil, which is 1200mm wide.
We can offer whiteboards that are higher than 1200mm but only in the vitreous enamel (porcelain / ceramic) writing surface, as we now stock this material in 1500mm wide coils, so we can manufacture whiteboards up to 3600mm wide x 1500mm high, but we can extend the width to 4200mm if required

As our porcelain steel is sourced from Polyvision in Belgium, we also stock other Polyvisionporcelain whiteboard products for more specific applications.

With the new wave of interactive technology, which a standard whiteboard can be used as an interactive whiteboard, the biggest problem with using a standard whiteboard is the reflected glare associated with the use of overhead projectors, either long throw or short throw projectors.
We stock a low gloss whiteboard surface specifically made for use where the whiteboard is to be used as a projection screen or for an interactive whiteboard, but the performance of the whiteboard, with regard to writing information on the board, or the removal of the written information from the whiteboard is not reduced with the low gloss surface.
The maximum size board for this surface is 3600mm wide x 1200mm high, but we can extend the width to 4200mm if required.

This surface is a specific surface when used in schools particularly in music classes.
The porcelain whiteboard surface has 5 sets of music staves baked into the whiteboard surface.
The music stave lines are grey, the writing surface is smooth, and the user would not feel any difference in the writing surface when writing over the stave lines.
The maximum board size for this surface is 3600mm x 1200mm, but we can extend the width to 4200mm if required.
